There’s only two weeks left before school starts and the Health Departments of Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Monroe Counties are offering free immunizations shots. Students in Kindergarten and 7th-grade are required to have proof of vaccinations. Here’s where to go, and who to call:
BROWARD COUNTY
IMMUNIZATIONS will be offered on the following dates and times:
INSIDE THE LAUDERHILL MALL
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday
August 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, 12, 13, 15, 18 & 19 – 9:00am to 3:00pm
Thursday August 7 & 14 – 9:00am to 7:00pm
School physicals and religious exemptions will not be provided at the Lauderhill Mall. For information on school physicals and religious exemptions call (954) 467-4705.
Florida requires certain vaccines to be administered before children may enroll and attend childcare and school. For information on immunization schedules visit: or call, (954) 467-4705.
In order to be vaccinated, each child must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Parent or legal guardian should remember to bring the child’s immunization records.
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County provides free back-to-school immunizations to children between the ages of 2 months through 18 years of age. Please see the below clinic schedule for locations and hours.

PALM BEACH COUNTY
The 2014-2015 school year requires all students in grades 7 to 12 to have proof of one dose of Varicella (Chickenpox) vaccine or have documentation from a provider of having chickenpox. These students also need proof of receiving one dose of Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (Tdap) Booster. All students in every grade should have received other vaccines like Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Polio and have an up to date form 680 on file as proof of receipt.
