This year the Reading Plus program is accessed through the student portal. In order for students to access the portal, they must know their username—which is the student ID number—and their password. Several students have struggled with accessing this program because the passwords were not working and had to be reset. Teachers here at CGPA are working to insure that each student has a properly functioning password.

Some have mixed feelings about this change. Mr. Stewart, a language arts teacher said, “My only real concern once the password glitches have been corrected is that the district’s site that now hosts Reading Plus is frequently down for updates and maintenance. It would be nice for students to still be able to access the Reading Plus program directly. However, I understand the district’s desire to consolidate the location for the many online student learning programs.”

If you’re frustrated with the complicated way to enter reading plus, here is how it works.

Next you have to enter your student portal by entering your student ID number (username) and password. This should open up the portal.

Then, click on link on the top of your screen that reads “Apps/Services/Sites”.

There will be a long list of resources. Scroll to the bottom of the list, and Reading Plus will be the third to last link on the list. Click on it.
