University of Maryland University College is proud to have been selected by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to participate in the VetSuccess on Campus program.
About VetSuccess on Campus
VetSuccess on Campus helps veterans transition from military service to college. The program is designed to ensure UMUC’s veteran students have the support and assistance they need to be successful in higher education, their careers, and their lives. Services are also available for military personnel, military spouses, and dependents.
About VetSuccess Counselors and Services
As part of the program, two VA counselors, Shonda McLaughlin and Diane Wilson, work on-site at UMUC at the Academic Center at Largo in Largo, Maryland. Additionally, they're available once a month at other UMUC locations on military installations in the region, including Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Joint Base Andrews, Fort Belvoir, Fort Meade, Fort Myer, and Quantico Marine Corps Base.
They provide direct services to veterans, as well as servicemembers and military spouses, including helping with health, education, and other VA benefits. They also are resources for help with choosing a major to fit your career goals, searching for a job, and adjusting to civilian life.
